A sculptural Shigaraki vase with quiet drama: a rounded teardrop body (しずく Shizuku) in matte charcoal-black, sand-textured stoneware, opening to a torn, split rim (破れ口 yabure-guchi), with a single gold-brushed vein (金彩 kinsai) flowing down the front over incised drag-line (掻き付け kakitsuke) texture. It is part of Hechimon's contemporary Shigaraki art-vase line by Marui Seitō — modern, grounded, and unmistakably hand-finished.

Use it for ikebana, a single branch or stem, dried botanicals, or simply as a standing object. Its scale suits a console, entryway, shelf, or tokonoma-style corner.

• Made by Marui Seito / Hechimon Shigaraki ware in Shiga, Japan, curated by ZenKiln

For fresh flowers, use a waterproof inner liner — the porous Shigaraki body can let moisture seep over time, so stand the vase on a mat. Because each piece is hand-finished, the gold, texture, and rim shape vary slightly — part of its character.

Care instructions

For floral and decorative use. For fresh flowers, use a waterproof inner liner — the porous Shigaraki body can let moisture seep over time, so stand the vase on a mat or coaster to protect surfaces.

Wipe gently; do not add detergent to the water. Not for food; not microwave or dishwasher safe. A little condensation may form with temperature change.

Because each piece is hand-finished, the gold, texture, and rim shape vary slightly — part of its character.
