A hand-painted karakusa, or scrolling vine, pattern decorates this blue-and-white porcelain bowl. Faceted sides rise from a square centre, giving the shallow bowl its distinctive shape.

Use it for a side dish, a small serving of vegetables, or fruit and dessert. Small dark marks may occur on the unglazed underside.
