Three mejiro, or Japanese white-eyes, perch together on a branch on this Kutani porcelain rice bowl by Seikō-gama. A leafy branch decorates the reverse, and a fine blue line runs just inside the rim.

At approximately 10.5 cm across and 5.8 cm high, it is a small bowl for an individual serving of rice. The design uses Seikō-gama's in-house overglaze transfer process, developed from brush-drawn outlines.

Care instructions

Microwave and dishwasher safe. We recommend hand washing with mild detergent and a soft sponge to help preserve the overglaze decoration. Avoid abrasive scrubbers and sudden temperature changes. Dry before storing.
