Tsubakihidegama Himetsuchi Hagi coffee pair

This hand-thrown Hagi-yaki pair from Tsubakihidegama contains two cups and two saucers. A translucent feldspathic glaze lies over the kiln’s pink-cream Himetsuchi clay, with fine kannyū crackle visible across the surface.

Hagi ware is traditionally associated with nanabake, the gradual visual change that can develop through use. The pace and appearance vary from piece to piece; the fine crackle is part of the glaze finish, not structural damage.

Hand wash with mild detergent and warm water. Dry completely before storage. Do not use in a microwave or dishwasher, and avoid sudden temperature changes. Small differences in form, glaze, and crackle are expected in hand-thrown pieces.

Saucer: ~14 cm (5.5") diameter × ~2.5 cm (1.0") rim height. The cup's foot ring fits within the saucer's central well.
