A small Japanese rice bowl from Seikou Kiln, decorated with three mejiro birds perched together on a branch. Their green heads, warm yellow throats, pale bellies and distinctive white eye rings stand out against the softly glazed white porcelain.

The reverse carries a separate branch with turquoise leaves and three orange-yellow berry-like accents. A fine pale-blue line circles the inside of the rim, while the interior remains plain white for a clean, versatile finish.

The Kutani overglaze design is applied using Seikou Kiln's in-house transfer process. The original black outlines are brush-drawn by the kiln's painters before being prepared for transfer and firing.
