A grand, cheerful centerpiece for a shop counter, office, or entryway — this large Japanese-style Maneki Neko is a working coin bank, standing about 22 cm (8.7") tall in the form of Fukusuke, one of Japan's best-loved good-luck figures.
Look closely and you'll see what makes him rare among lucky cats: no raised paw. True to Fukusuke — the Edo-era figure whose deep, courteous bow was believed to draw customers and prosperity into a shop — this cat sits composed in formal dress, paws resting low, eyes closed in a contented smile. Where other maneki neko beckon fortune in, this one is said to earn it the Fukusuke way: through gratitude and perfect hospitality.
Around him, a troupe of small cats takes the guise of the Seven Lucky Gods (七福神), whose blessings span wealth, happiness, longevity, and protection. And in the maker's own tradition — Yakushigama is named for the Yakushi Buddha of healing — every one of its cats carries one more quiet wish: health and long life.
It is also a real coin bank. Drop in a coin and saving becomes a small daily ritual under fortune's watch — which makes this piece a memorable congratulations gift for a shop opening, a new business, or a promotion, and a meaningful birthday gift for anyone saving toward a dream.
