Twelve miniature zodiac animals gather on the gold-coloured deck of this takarabune, or treasure boat. Pine, bamboo and plum decorate the sail beside the character 宝, meaning “treasure”; blue waves and a purple tassel finish the boat.

Yakushigama brings the full twelve-animal cycle together in one display, so the set can stay out beyond a single zodiac year. The animals are separate pieces that can be arranged on the deck.

Size

The boat is approximately 16 cm wide × 9 cm deep × 15 cm high (6.3 × 3.5 × 5.9 in). The twelve separate zodiac figures are approximately 2–2.5 cm high each.
