A green cat with a big job: both paws are raised. In common maneki-neko tradition, the raised right paw is associated with financial luck, while the left is associated with welcoming people or customers. This design combines both gestures. Color carries meaning too, and green is sometimes associated with study or success in examinations.

This 12 cm (4.7 in) Kutani ware maneki neko (Japanese lucky cat) is made by Chōhō Kiln in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.

Multicolored blossoms and scrolling motifs cover the deep green ground. Raised mori-style overglaze detailing creates a clear relief across the surface. Round accents and the sculpted bell-shaped ornament at the collar are finished in a gold tone.

Its 7 × 7 cm (2.8 × 2.8 in) footprint fits a shop counter, desk, entryway shelf, or other small display space.

Chōhō Kiln

長峰 · Ishikawa

Chōhō (長峰, also read Nagamine) is a modern Kutani-yaki kiln in Ishikawa Prefecture known for the Hanazono (花園 flower-garden) pattern and the signature ryōte (両手 both-paws-up) maneki neko series. Distinctive technique: mori-e (盛り絵 raised-line slip) accents over overglaze enamel. Not a coin bank — hollow base only, no money slot.
