This large maneki neko stands 26.5 cm tall. The raised right paw beckons, and the left holds a gold-tone uchide no kozuchi, the wealth mallet traditionally associated with Daikoku, with a red tai (sea bream) resting on top. A sculpted crane and turtle, a pair traditionally associated with long life, and botanical motifs are worked around the body, along with five small kittens: one on the head, one on the raised paw, one on the mallet handle, and two at the base.

The calligraphy across the body is a wish to invite good fortune and for one's luck to turn strongly for the better. In common maneki neko tradition the raised right paw is said to invite money, and the tai is the celebration fish whose name puns on "medetai," auspicious.

At 26.5 cm it is scaled for a shop counter, a reception desk, or an entryway shelf, and is often chosen as a gift for a shop opening, a new business, or a milestone housewarming.

Care instructions

For decorative use. Handle with care to protect the hand-painted ceramic surface, the chirimen silk-crepe collar, and the small ceramic kitten figurines (each individually applied to the body, head, raised paw, and mallet — these are the most fragile elements).
Dust ceramic gently with a soft, dry cloth.
Keep the chirimen collar dry; do not expose to moisture or direct sunlight to preserve the silk-crepe and painted finish.
The metal bell is solid; the red ribbon may fade over years — replace if desired.
Slight variations in brushwork and color placement are part of each piece's individual character.

Returns / damage support

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of delivery for eligible items. For a standard return or exchange, return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and items must be returned in their original condition and packaging.
