Iroe Yū Hidamari cat matcha bowl

A white cat and a dark cat sit together on this Kutani matcha bowl by Iroe Yū, looking toward small blue flowers and pale butterflies. The scene belongs to the workshop’s Hidamari, or “sunlit spot,” series and is painted across a soft white panel.

The remainder of the ceramic body is finished in a warm grey, finely speckled glaze. The contrast between the pale painted field and darker interior keeps the scene concentrated on one side, with the red 遊 workshop seal marking the foot.

Maker: Iroe Yū (色絵 遊), Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan
Ware: Kutani-yaki ceramic
Series: Hidamari
Dimensions: approximately 11 cm diameter × 6.7 cm high
Included: wooden paulownia presentation box

For daily matcha
