Tokushichi-gama cherry soba choko

This small white porcelain cup by Tokushichi-gama is painted with loose red cherry dots and fine brown branching stems. The glossy surface and simple tapered form keep the decoration light, with small shifts in brushwork visible from piece to piece.

At 160 ml, the vessel can be used as a soba choko for dipping sauce or as a handleless yunomi for tea. Its compact shape also works for a small dessert or condiment at the table.
