A frosted glass bell, about 6.3 cm (2.5 in) across, decorated with morning glory blossoms in pink, blue and purple on green vines. Morning glory, asagao, is one of the flowers Japan associates with summer, and pairing it with a glass furin is a long-standing combination.
This is a bon furin: the rounded, bowl-silhouette form of Japanese glass wind chime. A glass clapper rod hangs inside, and below it a purple paper tanzaku printed with a flowing-water wave pattern catches the air and turns the bell.
