Shigaraki Bud Vase, Hechimon Hand-Built Stoneware with Ash-Glaze Drip

Width: ~9 cm (3.5"). Depth: ~6.5 cm (2.6"). Height: ~11.5 cm (4.5").

Form: Rectangular slab-built bud vase (角型花瓶 kakugata kabin) — flat slab construction rather than wheel-thrown. Footprint sits flat on any surface; the rectangular profile is friendly to console / mantel / desk placement against a wall.

Top opening: deliberately torn / craggy / asymmetric (wabi-sabi "imperfect" aesthetic). Mouth size suits a single stem (ichirin) — one branch or one bloom.

Surface texture: kushi-me 滅目 (raked vertical brush striations) covering the full body height, raked into the wet clay before firing.

Variation note: each piece varies slightly in glaze drip pattern and yōhen color zones — natural ash glaze (bidoro) cannot be controlled exactly during firing.

Each vase ships with its body gold sticker (round black-and-gold seal — 「へちもん®」/「信楽 MARUI」) intact. Collectors typically retain the sticker as part of provenance.

Carefully packed for gifting and safe delivery from Japan. Fragile items are additionally packed with protective wrapping and cushioning materials for international delivery.

Wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth. The kushi-me 滅目 surface (raked striations) holds dust in the grooves — a soft brush or hairdryer on cool helps clean the texture.

Avoid abrasive cleaners and the dishwasher. The body is glazed inside and watertight, suitable for fresh-cut flowers; empty and dry the interior between arrangements to protect the surface.

The bidoro 自然釉 natural ash glaze at the top is a glossy fired-glass surface — clean it normally; it will not chip or wear with normal handling.

Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., pouring boiling water into a cold vase) to protect the glaze.

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of delivery for eligible items. For a standard return or exchange, return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and items must be returned in their original condition and packaging.
