Hechimon Zansetsu tall Shigaraki vase

This 28.5 cm flower vase from the Hechimon line moves from a pale crackled glaze at the shoulder into a dark, iron-toned Shigaraki body near the foot. The two-zone finish is named Zansetsu, or “lingering snow.”

The body widens through the middle and narrows toward its base. At the top, a five-lobed mouth breaks the tall silhouette and provides several natural positions for stems or a single branch.

Water use and care

The interior has an anti-leak treatment and is intended for fresh arrangements. Use a protective mat on delicate furniture, as the base and surface may have rough sections and condensation can form outside the vase.

  • Use plain water only; detergent or flower-preserving surfactants can damage the interior treatment and lead to seepage.
  • Rinse the interior with water and wipe the exterior gently with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Allow the vase to dry fully between arrangements.
