Hakuhō Kutani Yoshidaya wild-grape plate set

This set contains five hand-painted square plates by Hakuhō Kiln. The Yoshidaya-style Nobudō design places turquoise grape leaves and a small cluster of blue, turquoise, and black berries over a finely speckled yellow ground.

Hakuhō Kiln (博峰窯) is a modern Kutani-yaki kiln in Ishikawa Prefecture. Its Yoshidaya-fū revival work uses an aote palette of yellow, turquoise, purple, and iron black, omitting iron red.

Independent modern Kutani kiln. Hakuhō is distinct from the historic Yoshidaya kiln; describe its work as Yoshidaya-fū or Yoshidaya-style unless separately authenticated.
