Bring the ornate charm of classic Imari porcelain to your table with this Arita / Hasami Ko-Imari lidded bowl, hand-finished in the timeless bird-and-flower Imari idiom — long-tailed auspicious birds (in the hōō / phoenix style) in flight among iron-red peony blossoms, scrolling gold vines, and green-stippled reserve panels, all framed in gold.

The fitted lid helps warm dishes hold their heat and keeps food from drying out, so it doubles as a tidy cover for refrigerator storage. Remove the lid and the lower bowl works on its own as a small side bowl — equally at home with rice, soup, ochazuke, small donburi, chawanmushi, noodles, or simmered dishes.
