Kazuho bamboo chasen for everyday matcha

This standard kazuho chasen is made for preparing usucha, or thin matcha. Fine tines are split from the bamboo body and held with dark thread, leaving a straight inner core and an outer ring that opens through the tea.

Use

Soak the tines briefly in warm water before whisking so the bamboo can flex more easily. Move the whisk lightly from the wrist until the tea is evenly suspended and a fine foam forms.

Care instructions

Before each use, dip the tines briefly in warm water to soften them. Rinse with warm water only (no soap), shake off, and air-dry tines-up before storing in the tube. Bamboo tines wear naturally with use.
