Shigaraki Hechimon Tall Flower Vase — Handmade Loop-Handle Stoneware Ikebana Vase, 23 cm
Low stock: 2 left
- Stoneware
- Hand-wash only
- Made in Japan
A tall hand-built flower vase from Hechimon — the art line of Marui Seitō in Shigaraki, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns. A sculptural loop handle arcs up from the teardrop body, which is wrapped in combed (kushime) lines under a soft cream "shironeri" glaze that deepens to warm amber along the ridges. "Hechimon" is old Shigaraki dialect for "something out of the ordinary," and the Kairō ("corridor") series draws its flowing, organic forms from the quiet movement of living plants — so every piece is its own.
What you get
- 1 Shigaraki stoneware flower vase (tall, loop-handle form)
- Size: W 10.5 × D 10.5 × H 23 cm (4.1 × 4.1 × 9.1 in)
- Glazed stoneware, hand-built — each one individual
Good for
A single dramatic stem, a seasonal branch, or trailing greenery — or left empty as a sculptural objet on a shelf, console, entryway, or tea corner. A natural fit for ikebana and quiet, minimalist interiors.
Use & care
- Holds water for fresh flowers (the vase is treated to resist seepage). As a precaution, stand it on a coaster or mat — condensation or slight seepage can occur, and the unglazed foot may be a little rough.
- Do NOT add cut-flower food or detergent to the water — surfactants can interfere with the water-resistant treatment.
- Rinse and dry gently; hand wash only. Each piece is hand-made, so form, glaze tone, and combing vary — that individuality is the point.
• Made by Marui Seito / Shigaraki ware in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, curated by ZenKiln.
