A matched pair of Kutani mugs from the Hana series by Iroe Yū, a Kutani workshop in Ishikawa. One emphasizes pink and red blooms, the other blue blooms; both share the same speckled grey glaze and a gently wavy rim.

On each mug, a cream-white panel holds a dense bouquet of large starburst blooms, small yellow blossoms, white flowers and purple accents, set against the grey body. Hana (華) means “flower,” and it is the name the workshop gives this series.
