Colección: Antique Imari & Arita Porcelain

Antique Imari and Arita porcelain — the foundational Japanese export porcelain made in the Hizen region (modern Saga Prefecture) from the early 1600s onward. "Imari" refers to the port from which Arita porcelain was shipped to Europe; the two terms are often used interchangeably. Distinctive features include cobalt blue underglaze (sometsuke), iron-red and gold overglaze (kinrande), and the Imari brocade palette.
